Appalachian Trail

atLacking the endurance and time to do a serious through-hike of the world-famous Appalachian Trail, I worked on completing the 2200 mile footpath in bits and pieces when I lived on the east coast.  Now that I live in the Rockies, I’m unlikely to complete a whole lot more any time soon, but here’s where I stand at the moment. Hiking direction and milage indicated, spaces between hikes signify gaps yet to be filled. The map at right gives a graphical idea of what I’ve done and not-done. Milages quoted are of AT distances (via the 1999 Databook) only and do not include any blue-blazed miles which may have been part of the same hike. Obsessive? Me? I don’t know what you’re talking about.
